Now that's A BIG CHOIR! And an epic music video. Eric Whitacre's virtual choirs are legendary and his composition "Sing Gently" was like an epiphany for us to sing in! It's a joy to have our voices and our faces among the vast universe of fellow choral singers who contributed their talents. We are proud to be listed in the credits along with the many names of singers from all over the world.

Snapshot of Our Submission to "Sing Gently"

Tom and Mary Kay Aufrance sing for Sing Gently

Eric Whitacre's "Sing Gently" Virtual Choir was a massive online choral project during the COVID-19 pandemic, bringing together over 17,570 singers from 129 countries to record parts of his specially written piece, "Sing Gently." It created a unified musical response to global isolation and division through technology and the feeling of community even in the midst of social isolation. To participate as singers in this performance, we recorded ourselves singing along to a guide track. Then, we emailed our individual videos, with Tom singing tenor and Mary Kay singing soprano, to Eric Whitacre's team. The team mixed our voices and images into the video performance.

This serene worldwide musical work "Sing Gently" emoted themes of compassion, connection, and hope during challenging times.
